Brooklyn, MI
We start our exploration of this park 10 minutes down the road at the farmer’s market. While it used to be held on the park grounds, it has since been moved (I’m blaming COVID but unsure if that’s valid). The booths are scarce. A true mix of vegetables, homemade soaps, baked treats, quilts, but also a few stands of antique goods. And what we were told was “the best root beer you’ll ever taste”. But we didn’t try any so I guess we will never know.
Now on location at the actual park, we begin to wander the grounds. I notice that the cobble stone walkway is inlaid with numbers and letters. I find no explanation as to what they mean.

Our first historical artifact is the scoreboard for the old-timey baseball games. If only they had been playing today. But also thank goodness they weren’t because Gob would have played a very vocal umpire.

Next up we visited the barn and wagon. Gob was not allowed inside, so we observed from the doorway.

Our short loop took us past another historic building, the Walker Tavern. We did not go inside. Rather finished our loop and went on our merry way.
