Sturgeon Point State Park

May 1, 2022

Harrisville, MI

After cutting multiple miles off our last hike, we are way ahead of schedule. Which is good, because the rain is coming down hard. And I am not in the mood to deal with it. I check my weather app, and it says it will stop in an hour. So Gob and I snuggle in for a nap in the parking lot.

And just as the radar predicted, the rain stops. We exit the car and begin our tour of the premise. First stop, school. Because Gob needs some education.

As the recess bell rings, we make our way down the dirt path to the lighthouse. Along the edges of the field are old relics. Decaying boats. Anchors. Cannons. Items excavated from ship wrecks.

Gob remains groggy from his nap until we reach the lakeshore. Then he is back to barking and chasing the waves.
