Brethren, MI
This was the first park in a long time that there has been someone to check my park pass. In the past they have just seen it in my window and waved me through. Maybe this guy wasn’t paying attention when I pulled up. But when I told him I had a pass, he asked what year it was for. 2022. Then he asked what color it was. Orange. I pointed to the pass in the window. He finally allowed me access. Gob barked at the hold up.
The parking lot was packed. A stark contrast to being the only ones in our last park. Apparently, we missed the dress code memo, as we were the only ones not wearing waders.

Oh hot dam, this park is my jam! Sorry, could not resist.

Lack of waders did not keep Gob out of the water. The friendly fishermen watched and laughed as he pranced around. Michiganders sure are built Ford tough because that water they were all standing in was basically freezing.

As we made our way onto the river trail, more friendly fishermen warned of the slippery conditions. Gob was kind enough to listen and not pull me into the water.

Do I still call it a winter wonderland if it is no longer winter?
