Metamora, MI
Long time, no Michigan park visit. But a lack of precipitation and some slightly warmer weather makes me willing. Gob is all too eager to hit the trail with me.

While it is above freezing, the pond is still covered in a thick slab of ice. Gob tries every way imaginable to break through to the water below.

The bright green moss tricks me into thinking spring is closer that it is.

But soon enough we come across a snow covered trail. All dreams of spring and warmer weather fade away. I let slip a choice profanity. Gob takes a different approach. Eat first. Then roll.

We emerge from the woods into a field that will soon(?) be filled with wildflowers. Gob romps and sticks his nose in the long grass, always searching for mice. He finds none.
