My boys need the day off. So off I go, alone, into the woods. I’m not really in the mood for a hike either. This snowy tundra leaves me uninspired and cold. The woods all look the same to me. Yet here I am. For the cause. For the checklist. Because I slacked off when the weather was good. And now I’m running out of time.
I feel guilty that I’m not giving these winter-day-trip-parks a fair shake. I’m sure they have much more to offer in their peak season. Heck – you can’t even see the lake under all this snow and ice! I would say I’ll come back in the summer to see the true glory of this place, but at my current pace I doubt that to be true.
