Baraga State Park

October 2, 2021

Baraga, MI

What’s not to love about a small park perched on a lake? Especially one nestled into a small town. So nestled that the 1 mile hiking trail crosses the train tracks, and you can hear the local diner calling names for waiting tables while you hike.

For all of the color we have seen so far this trip, this little patch is still very green. There is a small dock that leads into a wetland just as you enter the trail. Gob tries to pull one over on me and acts like that is our trail. I catch on to his sly ways after a few steps, and he begrudgingly turns around. The actual trail is quite nice. Gob emerges covered in burs. We spend 30 minutes by the car brushing the burs out before we head to our next destination.
