Norway, MI
Our first stop is at the first of three units of undeveloped land that make up this park: Pemene Falls. The tiny trail to the “falls” was easy enough to find. But I would consider it more of a rapid that a true waterfall. Maybe I’m pretentious though. Beautiful nonetheless. Dogs enjoyed a quick swim. Would recommend.

Stop two took us across the border into Wisconsin: Quiver Falls. Honestly, we never found these falls. Or the trail that took us to them. Instead we found ourselves in a grove of ferns and then a grove of stinging nettle. The dogs didn’t mind, but I certainly did. We retreated in defeat. If you can find the trail, give it a try. Otherwise I do not recommend forging your own path.

Third and final stop of this particular park: Piers Gorge. Definitely the most well maintained. Also the only one with a ranger stationed to check park passes. Lots of dog approved river access and overall a lovely trail. Of the three, this is the stop I would most recommend for a hike.

Another park checked off the list before loading into the car for our next stop.
