Saugatuck Dunes, MI
We pass multiple signs drawing our attention to paths that are not marked trails. I’m not sure if they are meant to deter or entice adventures. We stick to the marked trail this time.

As the pine trees fade behind us, sand infiltrates my shoes. It begins to drizzle. I repeatedly tell Mason that the weather said 0% chance of rain when I checked it yesterday, but he doesn’t believe me. It only lasted a minute.

We climb to the top of a dune. Gob catches a whiff of lake and takes off.

A quick dip, a quick roll, then it’s time to explore the dunes.

We are left with a long walk down the beach. Gob occasionally dips his feet in the water.

He returns the hellos of a few strangers before passing out in the van.

Consider him saugatuckered out.
