Caseville, MI
I guess this is Michigan’s take on “white sand dunes” – at least in the winter.

A quick hop over the pedestrian bridge, and we were transported to trails and campsites. I imagine this to be the perfect weekend getaway when it’s warm and sunny. The campground has an adorable lending library for Mason. A stretch of dog friendly beach for Gob. I like to think we will be back for a 3-day weekend this summer. Maybe head back to turnip rock by kayak this time. Or just beach bum it up. Who’s to say.

For this trip, we did a short loop called the Old Dunes Trail. I assume the forest floor was made up of sand, but I really can’t be sure. Never the less, the diverse trees, the promise of wildflowers, and the evidence of woodpeckers will bring me back.
