I convince Mason to leave the comfort of our warm apartment and come explore with me.
I want to see the lakeshore. But somehow we cannot seem to find the trail I originally chose. Instead we are hiking through a marsh. The sunlight hits the cattails, bathing them in magnificent splendor. Gob sticks his nose in the dense reeds.
Eventually the marsh turns into woods. We happen upon an observation tower. Even Gob is excited to climb to the top. Once we reach the top, Gob tries to eat the snow rather then observe the surrounding nature. Oh well.
The remaining hike through the woods involves Gob running from snowbank to snowbank for a roll. I never see the great lake I went in search of.
