June 13-15, 2017

The job was mine if I could get my pharmacy license in time. The only hiccup? The earliest testing date was in Akron. Challenge accepted. Besides, who doesn’t love an excuse to travel?
It rained the entire drive there. An ominous sign. But if they say rain is good luck for a wedding, the same had to be true for a licensure exam.
A 2 hour drive, good night’s sleep, and 6 hours of test taking later…
…it was time to explore Cleveland.

Finally we made it to the water. In typical fashion, I took pictures while Mason read a book. I also took another nap.

Finally rested, I am now starving. We head to Little Italy and find Mia Bella. We opt to eat on the patio as the dining room required a long wait. This is hands down the best pasta I have ever eaten. Shortly after our food is served, it starts to rain. Hard. The umbrella keeps our food safe, and while the other diners all run inside, Mason and I continue eating. Eventually there is a lull in the rain, and our waiter rushes out to check on us. They offer us a place at the bar, but we decline. Bewildered, they let us continue our meal. With bellies full and rain pouring, Mason collects our plates and heads into the restaurant to pay. Last stop, Corbo’s Bakery for some cannoli.

The next morning, we head to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The trails are muddy after all of the rain, but that’s never stopped us before. We hike to Brandywine Falls. As if we haven’t experienced enough falling water this trip.
